Adjusting and cleaning the contact sets
All contact sets consist of spring steel sheets, contact rivets, insulating material, screw insulation and screws with which they are attached to the mounting surface.
Before attempting to adjust a contact, make sure the screws are tight. If this is not the case, first tighten the screw that is closest to the contact end of the spring plate. This prevents the spring steel sheets from twisting. In general, all spring steel sheets are adjusted to a distance of 0.8 mm in the open position and 0.2 mm overstroke in the closed position.
All contacts must be in good condition. Unless otherwise stated, they should be dry and not greased. All contacts must be free of dust and dirt. The contacts, with the exception of the pinball button contacts, are surface-coated to prevent corrosion. FILING OR GRINDING DESTROYS THE COATING AND CAUSES CORROSION. Clean the contacts by closing them over a clean cleaning swab and gently rubbing them until they are clean.
Only for the pinball button contacts: The coating can be removed with a contact file. Heavily worn contacts must be replaced as a whole. In general, contacts only need to be cleaned, replaced or adjusted if they are the cause of a malfunction of the device.
